Apex Legends Season 31 lets you dual-wield the Wingman and reworks Crypto

Apex Legends is handing out two Wingmen at once. Season 31: Cipher adds Akimbo Wingman, a new way to run one of the game's most popular weapons, and it launches on November 3 at 10 AM PT/1 PM ET.

The dual revolvers trade off some accuracy for bigger damage. IGN's writeup put it plainly: "Some people are absolutely cracked with the Wingman. And now they’ll be able to use two at once."

IGN also noted the Wingman sits as the 19th most effective weapon in DPS terms right now, and expects the akimbo version to pull players into closer fights. The outlet pointed to the Akimbo Mozambique, which got nerfed quickly after jumping from barely used to dominant. Keep an eye on how fast the meta shifts here.

Crypto is also getting a full rework, called Crypto Rewired. The idea is to move him from sitting back on his drone to pushing forward with intel.

His Surveillance Drone now runs on batteries instead of a cooldown, so you can pick it up and redeploy it without a long wait. There's a new Sentry Mode that tags enemies on sight, and his EMP Ultimate can now be deployed with the press of a button.

Revenant and Lifeline are both getting buffs, and IGN reports Lifeline's revive shield is coming back. Insider Gaming also lists Strongholds among the Cipher additions, though details on that are thin so far.
