The short version
- New Game+ lands in Valhalla on November 5.
- It brings new runes, achievements, a stash system and a new material, Mithril, for divine gear.
- Ubisoft says news on current-generation console updates is coming in the next few days.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla is finally getting New Game+. Ubisoft announced the mode in a blog post, and it arrives on November 5.
That's a long wait. Valhalla launched in November 2020, and its "final" update went out back in February 2023.
The update includes a new, optional progression mode, plus new runes, achievements and a stash system. There's also a new crafting material, Mithril, which you can use to upgrade divine gear.
Push Square calls New Game+ the game's most requested addition, so if you've been waiting to take Eivor through England again with your gear intact, your moment is close.
Ubisoft isn't stopping at NG+, either. The company says it will "share full details in the upcoming Patch Notes, along with news regarding current-generation console updates in the coming days."
Ubisoft hasn't explained what those console updates are. IGN's guess is a graphics boost, pointing out that Valhalla has PS5 and Xbox Series versions but hasn't received a PS5 Pro Enhanced update. That's speculation for now.
The same blog post also included a small, cryptic update on Assassin's Creed: Codename Hexe, though Ubisoft didn't offer much there. Full Valhalla patch notes should follow before the November 5 release.
What we don’t know yet
- Ubisoft hasn't said what its current-generation console updates will include.
- The full patch notes for the New Game+ update haven't been released.
- It's unclear whether a PS5 Pro Enhanced version is planned.
