Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 turns 10 with a free update and a Final Festival

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is getting a 10th anniversary update, and it's coming in two parts. Bandai Namco detailed the plan on its website: the first drop arrives October 27, with a bigger celebration following on October 30.

The first free update brings login bonus rewards, special costumes and an update to the Gallery of Time from the Future Saga Chapter 4 DLC.

Then comes the Final Festival of Universes. This is the real birthday party, bringing back hard-to-find items and unlocking rewards for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3.

You'll also be able to build up your camaraderie with one of your longtime companions. Per Bandai Namco's official description, you can choose "between Trunks, The Supreme Kai of Time, or Fu," and doing so will "unlock special illustrations."

The best part for anyone with a wishlist of rewards: Bandai Namco says you'll "earn 25 times more Star Coins than usual, making it easier than ever to exchange them for rewards." If you've been short on coins for years, this is the week to log in.

Everything is available to anyone who owns the game on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One or Xbox Series X/S. Xenoverse 2 originally launched October 25, 2016.

IGN reads the Final Festival as the publisher's sendoff for Xenoverse 2, with fans waiting on the series' third installment. Bandai Namco hasn't said what the Xenoverse 3 rewards are or how they carry over.
