The short version

  1. Mycopunk's 1.0 version launched on Steam on October 20.
  2. It's sitting at 81% positive, a Very Positive rating, from Steam users.
  3. Patches haven't stopped since the full release.

Mycopunk is out of early access. The co-op looter shooter launched its 1.0 version on Steam on October 20, and user reviews have landed at 81%, which puts it in Very Positive territory.

That's a solid score for a game that's been in players' hands for a while already. Mycopunk first showed up on Steam in July 2025 as an early-access title and picked up regular updates along the way.

The updates haven't stopped with 1.0, either. Patches have kept coming since the full release, so the work on the game is still going.

If you're trying to place it, a Steam News roundup of the launch says its gameplay and progression have drawn comparisons to Destiny and Helldivers 2. The same piece says Mycopunk also has several creative features rarely seen in the genre, though it didn't spell out which ones.

Those are big names to get stacked up against, and a shooter built around co-op and loot needs both a good feel and a reason to keep grinding. The review score suggests plenty of players think it's getting there.

There's no word yet on what the post-launch patches will add, or whether Mycopunk is headed anywhere other than Steam.

What we don’t know yet

  • What the post-launch patches will include hasn't been detailed.
  • Which creative features set Mycopunk apart wasn't specified.
  • Whether Mycopunk will come to platforms beyond Steam hasn't been announced.
