Silver Palace has a release date. The free-to-play open-world anime RPG launches worldwide on December 14, just in time for the holidays.

It's coming to PS5 and PC, with Insider Gaming also listing mobile among the platforms. Push Square describes the game as a console exclusive for now on the PlayStation side.

The setting is the hook here. Silver Palace is a Victorian-inspired open-world action adventure, which gives it a different flavor from the usual fantasy backdrop in this genre.

The date caught at least one outlet off guard. Push Square's writer, who played it at Gamescom earlier this year, said the announcement "has really shocked me" because they'd assumed it was still quite a way away.
