The short version
- Warframe: Tau is set to launch in December 2026.
- It adds Brysko, the game's 67th Warframe.
- Warframe's first-ever card game is part of the package.
Warframe: Tau launches in December 2026. The announcement went out on Steam News, and it lays out a few of the update's biggest pieces.
First up is Brysko, the 67th Warframe. Sixty-seven. If you've been grinding out every frame since the early days, your Arsenal is about to get one entry longer.
Then there's the part that jumps off the page: Tau brings Warframe's first-ever card game. After years of space ninjas, a card game living inside Warframe is a fun swerve, and it'll be interesting to see how it slots into everything else you do between missions.
The update is also bringing the Tau content the expansion is named after, along with what the announcement simply calls "and more."
That's about all the detail out there right now. There's no exact day in December yet, and the announcement doesn't break down how Brysko plays or how the card game works.
For now, December 2026 is the window to circle if you want to get your hands on the new frame and try your luck at cards.
What we don’t know yet
