The short version

  1. World of Horror's 1.2 update, As Below So Above, is live on PC and free.
  2. Two new Old God invasions headline it, including one with four cults summoning at once.
  3. PS4 and Switch players have to wait until 2027.

World of Horror just got its largest content update ever. Version 1.2, called As Below So Above, is out now on PC, and it's free.

Publisher Ysbryd Games and developer Panstasz are behind the update, which lands just ahead of Halloween.

The big additions are two new Old God invasions for you to identify and stop. One of them has four cults summoning their abominations at the same time, which sounds like a genuinely awful day for whatever town you're stuck in.

Beyond the new apocalypses, the update brings more "enemies, mysteries, characters, items, spells, curses, and injuries," according to the list Rock Paper Shotgun quoted. There's also "a large batch of quality-of-life features and bug fixes" in there.

Rock Paper Shotgun clearly enjoyed seeing injuries listed right next to quality-of-life improvements, and it's hard to disagree. More ways to get hurt and fewer annoyances along the way feels very on-brand for this game.

Console players are getting the update too, just later. As Below So Above is coming to PS4 and Switch in 2027.

No specific console release date has been given yet, and the full patch notes for the quality-of-life changes and bug fixes haven't been detailed in the coverage so far.
