The short version

  1. Siege of Castle Doom brings a new roguelite mode called Castle Doom.
  2. You fight through Doom's palace to stop him detonating his Cosmic Inductor.
  3. Sue Storm and Doctor Doom join as playable characters, with launch set for November 10, 2026.

Marvel Cosmic Invasion is getting a roguelite mode. Dotemu and Tribute Games have revealed new details and a trailer for The Siege of Castle Doom, the game's second DLC, and it's built around a mode simply called Castle Doom.

The setup is straightforward. You fight your way through Doctor Doom's palace and take down Victor before he can set off a device called the Cosmic Inductor.

Nintendo Life compared it to Dimension Shellshock, the roguelite mode Tribute added to Shredder's Revenge. If you put time into that one, you've got a decent idea of the studio's track record here.

The team explained the idea behind the DLC on the PlayStation Blog, framing it around what Doom was doing during the game's Annihilation Wave. "What was Doctor Doom up to during the Annihilation Wave?" the developers wrote, calling it "the first question we’ve asked ourselves while tackling the design of our second DLC for Marvel Cosmic Invasion."

They also said they "knew players demanded a mode promising a lot," which suggests the roguelite structure was aimed squarely at people wanting more replay value from the beat-'em-up.

The cast is growing too. Sue Storm and Doctor Doom were already announced as playable characters for the pack in an earlier reveal, so yes, you'll apparently be able to play as the guy whose castle you're raiding.

Siege of Castle Doom launches on November 10, 2026, with PS5 and PS4 among the confirmed versions.

What we don’t know yet

  • Dotemu hasn't announced a price for Siege of Castle Doom.
  • It hasn't been detailed how the Castle Doom mode's runs and progression work.
  • Release timing on platforms beyond PS5 and PS4 hasn't been spelled out.
