The short version
- Summer Eternal has officially unveiled Red Rooster, an upcoming RPG.
- The studio was founded by former Disco Elysium writers.
- Red Rooster is said to have a lot in common with Disco Elysium.
Red Rooster is the new RPG from Summer Eternal, an indie studio founded by former Disco Elysium writers, and it's now officially revealed.
If you've been waiting to see what that team does next, this is it.
Two of the studio's co-founders, Argo Tuulik and Dora Klindžić, have a direct line back to Disco Elysium. Both worked on the game's sequel at ZA/UM before that project was canceled.
So Red Rooster carries some extra weight. It's the first public look at what members of that sequel team are building on their own.
And it sounds like they haven't strayed far from home. Red Rooster is said to have a lot in common with Disco Elysium, though exactly how close the resemblance runs hasn't been spelled out.
That's an encouraging sign for anyone who loved wandering Revachol and arguing with their own brain. It's also a high bar to set for a debut project from a new indie studio.
For now, the reveal is light on specifics. Summer Eternal hasn't shared a release date, platforms or pricing for Red Rooster yet, so keep an eye out for more details as the studio opens up about the game.
What we don’t know yet
- Summer Eternal hasn't announced a release date for Red Rooster.
- The platforms Red Rooster will launch on haven't been confirmed.
- It isn't clear in what specific ways Red Rooster resembles Disco Elysium.
