GTA 6 lets you summon your car with an app called Scooter Brothers

Grand Theft Auto VI will let you call your car to you through an in-game app, and Rockstar named it Scooter Brothers. Edge magazine confirmed the feature in a new preview.

Here's how it works: an NPC drives your vehicle over, hands it off, then hops on a scooter and rides away. That scooter is presumably driven by another "brother."

If the name rings a bell, you were probably around for one of GTA's best memes. In 2008, Brad Simons, a host of the FourPlayerPodcast channel on Justin.tv (now known as Twitch), rode a moped around GTA 4's Liberty City, found another moped rider and started comically declaring them "scooter brothers."

That clip has over 7.5 million views on YouTube.

Rockstar has paid tribute before. In GTA 5, switching to Trevor could catch him recreating the meme with a frightened NPC. This time the nod is attached to something you'll actually use.

And you'll probably use it a lot. Your weapons and some other important gear are stored in your vehicle's trunk, so keeping your car close matters more than it used to.

GTA Online has let you call your car since launch, and Red Dead Redemption lets you summon your horse if it's within a reasonable distance. Doing it in GTA single-player without cheats is new, though.

There's no word yet on whether the delivery drivers will get their own silly lines to honor the original stream.
