The short version

  1. Witchbrook hits PC, Xbox, Switch, Switch 2 and PS5 on January 28, 2027.
  2. It's $24.99 in the US and headed to Xbox Game Pass.
  3. Physical and collector's editions come later, after the digital launch.

Witchbrook finally has a release date. Chucklefish's magical life sim launches January 28, 2027, on PC, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, a date revealed during Nintendo's Indie World Showcase alongside a new gameplay trailer.

PS5 players aren't left out, either. Chucklefish confirmed outside the showcase that a PS5 version is coming, and it'll arrive at the same time as every other platform.

It's been a long road. GameSpot puts the reveal eight years back, Pure Xbox dates it to 2018, and the game was originally planned for winter 2025 before slipping to 2026. So yes, January is technically another delay, but at least it's a real date this time.

The price is friendly. Witchbrook will cost $24.99 in the US at launch, and Pure Xbox reports it's coming to Xbox Game Pass in January.

If you want it on a shelf, you'll have to wait a bit longer. Standard and collector's physical editions are planned, but they'll land after the digital release. Chucklefish says that's "to avoid impacting the release schedule, and to ensure they’re truly special for physical media collectors."

The premise is still a delight. You enroll as a witch-in-training at Witchbrook College in the seaside town of Mossport, taking classes in Alchemy, Astrology, Tarot and Rituals, passing exams and unlocking spells on the way to graduation.

Between lessons you can make friends, find romance, run your own witch business, join clubs, go birdwatching, bug-catching and fishing, and renovate your woodland cottage and garden. Up to four players can do all of that together in online multiplayer, and GameSpot mentions broomstick races among the things you can get up to with friends.

Chucklefish hasn't shared pricing for the physical editions or when exactly they'll ship.
